Meet our leaders
Stovall and Kerri Weems founded Celebration Church in Jacksonville, FL in 1998. Since its inception Celebration has grown to include local, regional and international locations. Both Stovall and Kerri have also authored several books: • Awakening: A New Approach to Faith, Fasting and Spiritual Freedom • The God-First Life: Uncomplicate Your Life, God’s Way • Clueless:10 Things I Wish I Knew About Motherhood Before Becoming a Mom • Rhythms of Grace: Discovering God’s Tempo for Your Life • The Sisterhood Effect. In 2018, on Good Friday and Passover, Stovall experienced a powerful encounter with the Lord that completely disrupted the way the Weems have viewed ministry for over 20 years. This encounter led to many significant changes to the ministry model of Celebration Church – including a restoration of teaching on: • Returning to our first love, Jesus • How we image God and honor His name • Covenant loyalty to Jesus • The home and family • The priesthood of the believer • The Lord’s table • The Sabbath • The altar • Fulfilling the Great Commission. Stovall and Kerri have been married for over 20 years and are blessed with three children, Kaylan, Stovie and Annabelle.
Sebastiaan & Eva van Wessem have been part of the original church planting team of 2006. A year later Sebastiaan transitioned into the role of Lead Pastor. Their passion is to see God’s kingdom expressed through the local church and beyond. They are passionate to create an environment where believers are equipped and seekers find answers and encounter Jesus. Sebastiaan and Eva live in Huizen with their twin boys Miles and William. They enjoy cooking for friends and get up way too early on Saturdays for soccer games.
Jan Willem & Jobine Gunnink have been a part of Thousand Hills since 2006. They have served on various teams. Jan Willem has been involved with the financial board as well as small groups and events for men. Jobine has a heart for prayer and loves to empower people. They served for several years as elders. Currently they serve as Location Pastors in Huizen. They work together leading a company for career consulting. They have two adult daughters and three grandchildren whom they adore and love to spend time with.
Meet our interim team
Vince & Melissa Rooi have been part of Thousand Hills Hilversum since 2016. Since April 2019, they both serve in the youth and young adult ministry. Vince is the youth and SUB30 leader and Melissa supports him in this. In addition, they serve as deacons. Their passion is to reach as many young people as possible with the Gospel of the Kingdom and to build God’s Kingdom together. Together they have their own clothing company, called Bee Victorious and they are the proud parents of Selia and Maye.
Thomas Rebel has been part of Thousand Hills since 2014, serving in the worship team in Hilversum before joining the team in Huizen in 2015. Thomas has a passion for people to learn about the Father’s loving heart and enjoys worshiping him together with his wife Selina. He currently serves as the Worship Director. Besides serving in church, Thomas works as an IT consultant and enjoys spending time with friends outside by the campfire.
Hester Molenaar became a member of Thousand Hills Huizen in 2015, together with her husband Sander and daughter Joa. In the meantime, a second girl has arrived: Mae. Hester has been working as the Creative Director for Thousand Hills since 2017 and finds it fantastic to combine creativity with managing her team and building his church together. In addition, she loves to cook and eat with friends, read, dance with her daughters and walk or cycle with the family outside.
Samantha Kloos has been part of Thousand Hills Hilversum since 2016. Her goal is to have all Thousand Hills kids develop a personal relationship with God. And to – together with the parents – make the children faithful followers of Jesus. Samantha is married to Martin and they are expecting their fourth child in January 2020. She likes coffee, likes to go out with the family and likes to knit and do chores around the house.
Karen van Dijk and her husband Aart, together with their boys Arno and Hein, have been part of Thousand Hills Hilversum since December 2017. In 2019 Karen joined the translation team and also started to coordinate the small groups (Connect Groups) – with the hope in her heart that more members will experience the benefits of also sharing “life” with their church family. Being South African, there is a lot of time being spent next to the boys’ rugby fields. The rest of the time this family enjoys spending time with special friends made in the Netherlands.
